Working in the coffee business, we hear all kinds of coffee stories.  But we are always amazed by some of the more interesting facts about our preferred beverage. Take a look at these.

Did you know?

1.  Chicagoans drink more coffee every year that Seattleans.

2. But Seattle has more coffee shops than any other US city (35 per 100,000).

3. More than 500 billion of cups of coffee are served worldwide each year.

4. 20-30% of coffee sales are from flavored beans.

5. Men drink as much coffee as women although women are more concerned about the price of their cup of coffee.

6. Three out of five people say they “need” their daily cup of coffee.

7. Scandinavia holds the title of highest coffee drinkers per capita in the world. They drink 4 cups of coffee on average per day.

8. 57% of coffee drinkers add sugar or sweetener to their drink.

9. Coffee was the first commonly traded fair-trade-certified product.

10. People who drink 2-3 cups of coffee a day have a 15% less likely chance of depression than those who drink one or less cups a week.
